Out of this World Coverage

Assignment editors’ ears perk up when you tell them they won’t get another chance to cover an event until 2117. Combine that with an excellent view from the Maryland Science Center and you get a great media turnout for the Transit of Venus.

WBAL’s Kim Dacey and the Baltimore Sun’s Scott Dance previewed the event, and WJZ’s Kai Jackson, WBFF’s Jeff Abel, and Baltimore Sun photographer Kenneth Lam stopped by to see the Transit for themselves.

And just when we thought the astronomical awesomeness would be obscured by clouds, they parted, giving the packed Maryland Science Center rooftop observatory a view that nobody alive today will likely ever see again.
